About Us

BU Women in Medicine aims to empower undergraduate, pre-medical women in a male-dominated field by creating mentorship with a network of female doctors in order to create conversation and develop skills to succeed through their academic and professional careers.

Connect female doctors from Boston Medical Center with Boston University undergraduate pre-medical women to begin academic and professional mentorship.

Host workshops with the Center for Career Development for resume building, cover letter writing, and interview skills.

Reach out to local high schools to mentor girls who aspire to work in the medical field.

Our Advisor

Stephanie Bissonette, DO, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the Boston University School of Medicine. She earned her Master in Public Health from Sargent College at Boston University and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine. She served as Chief Resident at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and pursued further postdoctoral training as a Movement Disorder Fellow at Boston Medical Center.
